Diego Walsh, a native of Santos, Brazil will take the helm as BUFC’s head coach. Walsh holds a US Soccer “B” License and his NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, and FIFA Level 1 Futsal. Walsh grew up playing in the Santos FC system prior to moving to Miami where he found great success playing for the Miami Strike Force. Walsh played collegiately for division 1 Southern Methodist University where he was drafted #7 overall to the Columbus Crew in the 2003 MLS Super Draft. Walsh would go on to play 10 years of professional soccer, including Columbus Crew and Kansas City in the MLS, Adelaide United and Wellington Phoenix in the A-League, and TOT SC in the Thai Premier League. He is a former Men's Assistant Coach at division 1 Grand Canyon University and Phoenix College. Walsh also worked with Real Salt Lake AZ for 6 years as a staff coach. Walsh was highly sought after for the head coaching position because of his experience with the game both on and off the field and his connections within the soccer landscape that will make him a great asset in the process of developing a player pathway to more professional opportunities.
Camden Brooks, a native of Alamance County, NC serves as the Assistant Coach of BUFC. He comes with great experience as an accomplished player and coach. Brooks played soccer collegiately at Greensboro College before transitioning into his coaching career. He is a two-time High School state champion coaching men's and women's soccer coach at Western Alamance High School in Alamance County, North Carolina. Brooks also served as the Assistant Coach for Greensboro College. In addition to his current role as the Head Coach at Western Alamance High School, Brooks serves as a coach with the youth soccer club, NC Fusion.
