Academy Phase U8-U10
Academy Phase: Description
The Academy Phase is the entry point for our youngest athletes. At this stage, we love to win; however, we understand touches on the ball and your player developing their understanding of the game matter more. We prioritize a high-energy environment where kids fall in love with the game while building a foundation of coordination and basic motor skills.
Development Phase U11-U12
Development Phase: Description
The Development Phase is designed for players who have outgrown recreational play, have aged out of the Academy Phase, and are ready for a more structured challenge. The demand of expectation increases at this level. This is the "bridge" phase where we shift from primarily individual skills to introducing a beginning focus on understanding how to play as a cohesive unit.
Competitive U13-U14
Competitive Phase: Description
Our Competitive Phase is a highly selective phase with teams being capped at 16 players. It is for the dedicated athlete looking to test themselves with high expectations. We emphasize ball mastery, tactical sophistication, conditioning for competition, and mental toughness. The focus is to help provide direction and preparation for players to compete at the MLS Next Level, ECNL Level, or High School Level. This phase is designed to build strong character to ensure our players have an advantage for success in life both on and off the field of play.
Competitive Boys Summer Tournament Teams U13 & U18
Competitive Phase: Description
Our competitive boys summer tournament team is one of special selection. Players are selected via direct invitation through scouting efforts and via tryouts. The goal is to provide players from the Burlington region the opportunity to represent the region in a competitive tournament while sharpening their skills as they prepare for their upcoming fall season.
Flexibility is important as we realize this is prime vacation time for many families. It is important that families are able to connect and recharge from all the commitments of life during the fall and spring seasons.
While there is a level of commitment we require from the players for the tournament play and preparation, we understand it is important to find a balance between preparing for the tournament and having time to get away for the summer to focus on the most important things in life.
Ball Mastery And Relationship
B.M.A.R. Training
B.M.A.R. Training
Ball Mastery and Relationship Training is critical for player development. It is the building block for players of all levels to be able to build the bridge between learning the game and executing the game at a high level.
B.M.A.R. Training takes place one time per week during the season for Development Phase & Competitive Phase players. Certain Academy Phase players may be invited to participate in B.M.A.R. Training on occasions if the coach and training facilitator believes it is appropriate for the individual player and if they are at the level physically and mentally.
This is a 60-minute, high intensity training that integrates fun, hard work, accomplishment, and individual development into a proven process of success. Players should expect to be challenged. Players should expect to be encouraged. Players should expect to gain a confidence that can only be experienced by achieving a goal that causes a person to see new strength that was already within them.
Players who are not a part of the Burlington United FC Youth Club that are interested in this training can also participate by booking a training slot to be a part of the session.
